Tanglewood presents their
5th anuual arts & crafts fair on Saturday, April 28th! This
event will take place at Tanglewood's Amphitheater from 9:00 a.m.
- 4:00 p.m. and is FREE to the public. Come join us for a wonderful
day of fine arts & crafts, bake sale items, live music from
our main stage, great food, children's activities, door prizes,
raffles & more!

Each Spring on Mother’s Day weekend Pilot Mountain
hosts the annual Mayfest. The celebration begins on Friday and draws
to a close on Sunday afternoon. Main Street is blocked off to motor
traffic to accommodate an array of arts, crafts, and food vendors
in addition to live entertainment.There is also fun and games for
the children, including park rides. Not to be missed are also the
foods which compliment the festivities. Admission is free.

This event is sponsored by VFW Grover King Post 1115
and has achieved such popularity that it now consumes much of the
entire town of Hillsville. Antique dealers, gun dealers and traders
of all kinds make this one of the largest shows in the southeast.
Hillsville expects to draw over 500,000 visitors this Labor Day
weekend. There is always something for everyone and a whole lot
of family fun.

Fair on April 29, 2006. This event is open to the public from 9am
until 4pm. Admission is Free. There will be fine arts and crafts
provided by some of the Triads finest artists and craft persons.
Great Food and Music at this event. Door Prizes will be drawn throughout
the day and a Grand Prize Drawing at 3pm.

Spring Arts and Crafts Show is located in the heart
of the Kernersville Spring Follies which is a Kernersville Chamber
of Commerce and Kernersville Arts and Crafts Guild sponsored event
in it's 14th year. Artisans and crafters from North Carolina and
four other states will be participating in this outdoor event. Woodcrafts,
tole painting, scrap booking, jewelry, hand sewn, floral, yard art,
glass art, lapidary, baskets, tie dyed bags and accessories, face
painting, etc.

Pilot Mountain MayFest was introduced in 1982. A celebration
of Spring, it is held the second weekend in May, Mother's Day Weekend.
Main Street in downtown Pilot Mountain sets the stage for this festival.
The community gathers to display, as well as sell, their handmade
arts and crafts, see the car show, listen and dance to music. There
is also fun and games for the children, including park rides. Not
to be missed are also the foods which compliment the festivities.
Admission is free.

Lining the streets, June 1947 saw the first of the
Rhododendron Festivals, conceived and carried out by the Roan Mountain
Citizens Club as a two-day celebration to memorialize and perpetuate
the most gorgeous display of natural beauty on the North American
continent.
This festival has continued uninterrupted for over fifty years of
Historic Mt.Airy "Mayberry" you will find: Antique tractors
and equipment, Heritage crafters & demonstrations, Handmade
crafts for sale, music, food, fresh bedding plants and produce including
fresh strawberries. Saturday 9 - 7 & Sunday 12 - 6. Admission
is free.

June 1947 saw the first of the Rhododendron Festivals,
conceived and carried out by the Roan Mountain Citizens Club as
a two-day celebration to memorialize and perpetuate the most gorgeous

festival has continued uninterrupted for over fifty years
Location: Roan Mountain State Park, Hwy 143, Roan
Mountain, Tennessee (Between Asheville, NC, and Johnson City, TN
on US HWY 19-E, and only 40 miles from Boone/Blowing Rock, NC, and
20 miles from Banner Elk/Beech Mountain/Linville, NC).

DIRECTONS:
From Richmond/Williamsburg:
Travel Interstate 64 East to LaSalle Ave. exit. Turn left at third
traffic light onto Settlers Landing Road and follow into the festival
area.
From Southside Hampton Roads: Via the Hampton
Roads Bridge Tunnel - Travel Interstate 64 West to the Downtown
Hampton/Woodland Road/Hampton University exit (Exit 267). Turn left
at traffic light at the end of the exit ramp onto Settlers Landing
Road. Follow across bridge into the festival area.
OR
Via the Monitor Merrimac Tunnel - Travel Interstate 664 North to
Powhatan Pkwy exit. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto
Powhatan Pkwy. Continue to first traffic light and turn left onto
Pembroke Ave. Follow to Settlers Landing Road intersection and turn
right to continue into the festival area.
Lots of nearby festival parking: Follow Signs to Parking areas
- Parking is $5.00, and a portion of all parking proceeds benefit
local charities.

Brushy Mountain Apple Festival

The Brushy Mountain Apple Festival is one of the largest
one-day arts and crafts festivals in the Southeast. The Brushy Mountain
Apple Festival is not just this club's largest fundraiser, but has
become a one of Wilkes County's biggest fund raisers. Over 100 civic,
church and other non-profit organizations participate in the festival.

Oktoberfest - Friday October

Oktoberfest is a three day festival which brings 100,000
people to Downtown Hickory for a juried craft show; "KidsFest"
ethnic crafts, rides and games. You must come with an appetite since
thirty-three food vendors will be selling an enormous variety of
irresistible food, including home-baked chicken pot pies. roasted
corn-on-the-cob, many ethnic foods, the always-popular "funnel
cakes" and, of course, hot dogs and hamburgers.
Directions:
I-40 from the East:
Come to Exit #125. Exit right onto Lenoir-Rhyne Blvd. Go approximately
1 mile to large intersection, which is 1st Avenue (sign also says
"Tate Boulevard" on the sign to the right!). Turn left.
Go approximately 12 blocks to 3rd Street SW. Turn right. Go under
RR Underpass. Turn right immediately into Downtown Hickory's Union
Square parking lot. There will be someone there to meet you with
further instructions.
I-40 from the West:
Come to Exit #123. Follow signs carefully that say"Hwy.321
North". Get onto Hwy. 321 North, stay in right lane and turn
right onto Hwy. 70. Go to the second light (Howard Johnson's will
be on the right). Turn left onto 4th Street SW. Go through the next
light, then bear right at the "Y-intersection" onto 3rd
Street Drive SW. (There's a convenience store at that "Y").
Go straight on 3rd St. Drive SW until you go under the RR underpass.
Turn right immediately into Downtown Hickory's Union Square parking
lot. There will be someone there to meet you with further instructions.
From Highway 321 from Lenoir, NC:
After crossing the Catawba River bridge, turn left at the first
stop light (Arby's) onto Old Lenoir Road. It becomes 3rd Avenue
NW. Take it to 3rd Street NW, turn right. Go straight until just
before the underpass and turn left into Downtown Hickory's Union
parking lot. There will be someone there to meet you with further
instructions.
